Vintage Tableclothes

We are going to be using these tableclothes over the floor length table clothes. It has taken us months to collect all of them and we have over 20 of them now.

Collecting Milk Glass

I know it's been a long time since I have posted any wedding updates, so I decided to update ya'll on what we have been up to.
We have been looking high and low at flea markets and antique stores for milk glass.
We have over 20 pieces now.

A sampling of what we have collected
What are we planning to do with all these containers, you ask?

Well, I will tell you.

Here are a few inpiration picks of what I want to use these for:

I want to plant succulents in them to use as centerpieces on the tables, along with flowers in mason jars and milk bottles and plants in antique silverplate and metal containers.

What do you think?

Pictures Of Bouquets....Finally

I finished the bouquets for the wedding about 2 weeks ago, but I am just now getting the pictures taken of them to put on here. (It is totally Alanna's fault, because I told her to take the pictures and she didn't until today)
I don't know why, but all of the bouquets look better in person, than they do in the photos......  at least I think so...
Here is Alanna's shell bouquet:

Still Working

Alanna and I have been working on the shell bouquets this week. They are really turning out great, or at least we think so. I will post pics when we get done.
The bridesmaids dresses came in. They are the convertible dresses like they show on David Tutera's My Fair Wedding, but that brand, Two Birds, cost almost $300. We found a different brand that looks the same for only $55.
We got the Turquoise, of course.

The girls can pick the way they want to wear it.

Shell Flowers

We have decided to make shell bouquets for the wedding. These are some of the inspiration photos that we have found online:

These bouquets run around $150 - $200 each. They could get mighty pricey if you figure 1- Bride, 3- Bridesmaids and 1-Jr. Bridesmaid. That could take the better part of $1000.
I made these out of some of the shells. I think we will probably
use these in the Bridesmaids' bouquets.
( 33 of them)
We found some shells at Hudson's in Ridgeland and had some left from when we made a heart on the beach with shells for the proposal. We will probably get family members to pick up a few specialty shells up from one of the stores when they go to the beach this month.  I have separated the shells into bridesmaids and bride by picking the whitish shells out to use in Alanna's bouquet.
These are Alanna's shells (They are whiter than they look in the photo),
I got the lace and the flowers off of a old wedding dress that Alanna
had gotten off Ebay.I am thinking of using the flowers in the bouquet
and using the lace to wrap the handle with

These are the shells we will use for the bridesmaids bouquets.

I will keep you informed of the progress and evolution of the bouquets.
What do you think about these ideas?

Owl Cake Topper

Alanna had seen this cake topper on Etsy:
and had been wanting it, but at almost $200 with shipping, It was not in our budget. So after a trip to Hobby Lobby and a little bit of googling or McGoogling as I call it, (don't know why...just sounds funny), this is what I made for less than $40:

I am going to change the rope out for smaller rope or ribbon. We are going to use this at the reception.
At the wedding, we are probably going to get a cake that looks more beachy... maybe something like this:
